A Blast from the Past..

Samurai Jack. One of the best shows on Cartoon Network long back. A friend had once 'challenged' me to draw Samurai Jack in my style. I was so unconfident that I never really made anything. Today, finally, inspiration struck and I sketched this out.

Made using a Pentel pocket brush pen. Fancy photoshop effects added because I can.

I'm really happy with this one.

Aku, I honestly don't think he is enjoying your stupid face. He might just take a Katana to it.  

Supergirl

Felt like drawing another girl in Photoshop. Decided to make Supergirl. Took around 2 hours to paint this.

Need to explore more styles for painting. 

Puppies

They get distracted so easily!
I've been seeing a lot of fan-art of kid Korra and puppy Naga and couldn't help making this art. I've kept my friends' dogs often at my place and I remember just how difficult it is to train a puppy. Pretty sure Korra would have faced several problems with her pup.
Their eyes just melt your heart and you can NOT scold them. 

Asami Sato

Have you guys seen Legend of Korra yet? Its one of the best cartoon shows on TV yet! Lots of cool characters and bending. Asami is one of my favourite characters from the show. She is not a bender but is a very strong person and comes up with some pretty good ideas. Also, shes very pretty and rich. I wanted to make a painting of Asami and am sharing the steps I took for the painting.


So, I started doodling at first. Lots of Asami sketches to get her look right. Her hair were tough for me. I liked one sketch out of all the doodles and opened a new canvas in Photoshop. I scaled the drawing up and cleaned the sketch up. Next, I added flat colors. After that came shading. I wanted the light-source to be coming from our right so shaded accordingly. References are always good when it comes to getting the lighting right. Once I was happy-ish, I added the background and added more details like her eye color and lip shading etc. After that, I made a new layer and placed it on top of all the layers. I picked color from the background and gave a foggy effect around her. Like, the color is bleeding on to her. I am always aiming to try and get my paintings as close to traditional medium as possible. Still a long way to go!

And finally:

Once I was happy with how the painting looked, I added some brightness and contrast along with some texture. I have used the default Photoshop brush for almost the entire painting. Used a few custom brushes here and there. Oh and the clip. I had forgotten to add the clip and it was added towards the end.

Sketched some Korra art coz I am tired of waiting for 14th April. Can't wait to watch more episodes...

Arrivederci

A sketch of Ezio from the famous Assassin's Creed series. I finished playing Revelations a few weeks back. I made this using a Sharpie marker on the cardboard box which contains the game CD. It was so plain, it was almost screaming at me to sketch something on it.

Green Bird

Spike Spiegel from the super-cool anime Cowboy Bebop.

I went for a completely different style from my usual. Tried using a limited color palette.

Might try to make other anime/manga characters in similar way :)

by the way, the title is taken from one of the songs that play in the background of one of the episodes. Cowboy Bebop has an amazing soundtrack...Jazz and Blues...

Paprika

I saw the movie yesterday and i totalllyyyy loved it!...The character design of Paprika was so good...simple, but so good..wish i could have hair in a similar style!...

I just had to make a fan art of Paprika! :D

The only thing missing was a handsome dude..the one who was good looking died. Thats like so unfair! D":
